Nine-year-old Kento Ishikawa is from Los Angeles, California and is a student of Micah Yui at the Colburn School. Kento has won first prize in the CAPMT Honors Competition State Final, CAPMT Concerto Competition State Final, CAPMT Sonata/Sonatina Competition, IAPMT Concours International, and Southern California Junior Bach Festival. He was also a prize winner at the Sejong Music Competition and Bellagrande International Music Competition, and a finalist in the Nashville International Chopin Piano Competition.

Kento performs regularly in recitals at the Colburn school. As a winner of the Bellflower Concerto Competition, he performed Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 1, and as a winner of the LA Youth Philharmonic Orchestra Piano Concerto Competition, he performed Mozart Piano Concerto No. 2.  Kento will perform Mozart Piano Concerto No. 21 with the LA Youth Philharmonic Orchestra in March of 2024. Kento has worked with Jean-Yves Thibaudet and was a student at the Montecito International Music Festival in the summer of 2023.
