9-year-old pianist Wilson Liu comes from California. At 7 years old, he was admitted to The Juilliard School Pre-College Division. Currently, he studies with Hung-Kuan Chen and Tema Blackstone. In his first year, Wilson won the Bachauer Prize with the full-tuition scholarship. At the same time, Wilson was nominated for the Artemisia Foundation as the youngest fellow. Wilson has played in masterclasses with Jerome Lowenthal, Veda Kaplinsky, Misha Voskressenski, Marilyn Engle, Dr. William Rothstein and other pedagogues. He has performed in Paul Hall in The Juilliard School, Merkin Hall, the Stella Series and the Harvard Club in New York. Recently he performed his first solo recital at Juilliard, filmed “Now Hear This,” presented by Great Performances celebrating its 50th season on PBS, and performed with Little Orchestra Society's Kids for “Carnival of the Animals” Concert.

Since his earliest training, he has participated in numerous piano competitions, including International Grande, 5th Florida Young Artists, Chicago international, Spotlight International, 30th United States Open Music, 46th East Bay in USA, WPTA international in Singapore, Chopin Avenue in Hong Kong, Elevato International in Austria, and the “Citta di Sarzana” Music Competition in Italy, winning first prizes and garnering high accolades. Most recently, he won Grand Prize in XIV Chopin International Piano Competition, Hartford. Wilson thoroughly enjoys the growth and fun he experiences as he prepares for his performances, and he always looks forward to learning from his fellow pianists.
