Manhattan’s largest community arts school invites children ages 4+ and their families to come try out instruments with our experienced and nurturing faculty members, participate in short dance and Dalcroze classes, and enjoy performances by our students in Merkin Hall.
In one fun-filled afternoon, kids can play the guitar like a rock star; learn how it feels to bow a cello and violin; sample a dance class, and take a turn at the flute, clarinet, saxophone, oboe, double bass, trumpet, trombone and percussion instruments. This event is perfect for children thinking about starting an instrument or dance at any age, as well as for young musicians who’d like to explore a second instrument. Our staff will be happy to answer questions and make recommendations based on your child’s age, interests and skill level. Snacks will be provided.
Studying music helps kids develop focus, confidence, determination, creativity and perseverance in addition to problem solving and collaboration skills. With some of NYC’s best teachers and a large variety of performing arts classes for all ages, Kaufman Music Center will help your child develop a lifelong love of music, and set them up for future success.
