Yufei Cathy Chen studies with Dr. Yoheved Kaplinsky and Dr. Yiheng Yang. Her performances have graced prestigious venues like Paul Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Kaufman Concert Hall, Lehman Center for the Performing Arts, Merkin Concert Hall, Qingdao Grand Theatre and the National Centre for the Performing Arts. Over five years, she participated in various chamber groups, taking the stage at Paul Haul and Morse Haul over twenty times. In May 2020, she was invited to present the Three Movements of Petrushka at Alice Haul. Notably, she joined the Little Orchestra Society for four concerts, conducted by David Alan Miller in May 2022, showcasing "Rhapsody in Blue" and "I Got Rhythm Variation." In January 2024 she was invited to work again with the L.O.S. to perform Brahms's Concerto No.1 with L.O.S. with conductor David again, meanwhile performing Brahms variations based on the theme by Paganini.

The same year, she stood as the sole representative of Juilliard's preparatory division, performing Stravinsky and Prokofiev at the Juilliard Spring Celebration. Yufei's performances have been broadcasted by WQED, encompassing compositions by Stravinsky, Amy Beach, Beethoven and Liszt. In the summer of 2023, she was accepted by the Aspen Music Festival with full fellowship, mentored by Dr. Kaplinsky, and received a nomination for the Overture series' opening performance.

Yufei holds the honor of being a Lang Lang Foundation Young Scholar from 2022 to 2024 and winner of the 2023 and 2024 YoungArts competition. She has secured top accolades, including first place in the Steinway & Sons Piano Competition (North China), Yamaha USASU competition judge's discretionary award, Bella Grande Competition first place, Piano Star Competition first prize and bronze medal, ENKOR International Music Competition Grand Prize, and the Steinway and Sons Special Award for the Kaufman Piano International Competition.
